Why Attend Fahs Camp?
For decades, Unitarian Universalists from Long Island and beyond have come together in the spirit of Beloved community. Find out why campers return year after year.
Deepening Faith
To create an intergenerational Unitarian Universalist community we provide practical and spiritual experiences in a safe, beautiful, and natural environment that will inspire children, youth, and adults to explore their identities.
Programming for All Ages
We offer programs for a multigenerational camp experience. We welcome families of all ages and sizes, young adults, and seniors who hold fond memories of attending with their children. Children and youth entering grades 3-12, from the Long Island Area and beyond, are invited to attend as campers. Adults from LIAC Congregation members volunteer time as staff. Each community member signs a Covenant by which to live during our week together.
"We want our daughter to have this one week of intentional community with like minded people every year."

There is a happy hour at the Inn at Silver Bay. Every evening before dinner feel free to grab a glass of wine and relax in a rocker on the porch while you enjoy the sparkling water.
-
Can I smoke?
Silver Bay YMCA has a restricted smoking policy. Smoking of any kind is not allowed in any buildings, including guest rooms, meeting rooms and/or porches of any buildings. All public areas including beaches, unless posted otherwise, are deemed a no smoking area.
A charge of $300.00 may be charged to the credit card on file to cover damage/cleaning fees if you violate this policy.
Smoking tobacco is ONLY permitted in the designated smoking area (e.g., near the flagpole).
As allowed by law in New York, Silver Bay YMCA has a strict no marijuana policy that forbids the possession, use and/or consumption of marijuana anywhere on our properties, in our facilities, or during participation in our programming.
-
Is there laundry?
There are laundry facilities in the Inn. We recommend bringing your own detergent sheets or pods along with you.

There are lots of options for activities while you're at Sophia Fahs Camp. All youth are expected to participate in scheduled programming and all adults are urged to be in community.

Last year was hot with warm evenings. The year before was perfect and even cold overnight!
The dining hall is air conditioned and each room in our lodge is furnished with a fan.
Committed to Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
We are challenging the image of the outdoors and camp as spaces primarily for white people of financial privilege. Thanks to the generosity of donors, grants, and LIAC congregations, we are able to provide financial aid and scholarships for any Long Island Area UU camper in need.
All youth and young adults are eligible for subsidized registration rates. These rates are made possible by Long Island Area Council of UU Congregations and New York State Convention of Universalists.
